Strategy, rhythm, and teamwork
OBAN: Origin is the first competitive title in the OBAN universe. It drops you into an abstract arena where strategy, anticipation, and mastery of the flow intertwine. Pieces interact through an energy ball — a new horizon where chess-like depth meets coordinated team play and esports pacing.
OBAN
This page focuses on OBAN: Origin (1v1 / 2v2). Other formats in the OBAN universe — OBAN: Gridiron, OBAN: Academy, OBAN: Access — are already being explored, all built on the same protected flow engine.
OBAN — The universe of a modern mind sport
Hex board, mechanics inspired by American football in a non-violent, readable, highly strategic format. The goal is to build advantage, create plays, and materialize the flow on the field.
CORE RULES
- Objective: push forward, open lanes, convert advantage.
- Turn: anticipation → positioning → trigger.
- Clarity: few actions per turn, deep combinations.
- Hardware: standard PC, minimal UI.
FLOW & RHYTHM
The ball advances every turn → constant pressure, evolving tempo, fast decision-making.
Loop: Energy read → Movement plan → Curve compute → Simultaneous execution → Adapt.
SPECTATOR & MODES
- Fast & readable: short phases, obvious stakes.
- Playmaking: highlight moments built around flow.
- Broadcast-ready: minimal overlay + key info.
TWO WORLDS. ONE LOGIC.
On the left: an offensive setup on an American football field. On the right: a tactical maneuver on a chessboard.
Same essence: anticipation, positioning, reading pressure, adapting fast.
OBAN fuses both. Every piece has a defined role; every movement matters. You win by reading ahead and controlling the flow.

The OBAN universe, beyond this prototype
OBAN is designed as a universe rather than a single game. All formats share the same hex-based flow engine, protected design, and focus on skill expression.
- OBAN: Origin — the core 1v1 / 2v2 competitive experience presented on this page.
- OBAN: Gridiron — a larger-team, field-like variant for future seasons and special events.
- OBAN: Academy — a classroom-ready adaptation co-designed with teachers and students.
- OBAN: Access — an accessible version co-built with associations so players with disabilities can enjoy the same depth.
Details are intentionally kept high-level here. The key point: investing time or support into OBAN strengthens a broader, long-term IP — not just a one-off title.

How does a match play?
- 📦 Composition: draft your pieces and initial game plan.
- 🔁 Turn: 2 actions, then the ball automatically advances.
- 🛡️ Tempo & role: attack, cover, reposition — every choice matters.
- 🥅 Score: shoot through the opponent’s last line… or shut down their attempt.
FOCUS ON 2v2: THE DNA OF THE SHOW
OBAN borrows the downs-like rhythm of American football and the positional reading of chess. The mix creates intense, readable, spectacular matches — perfect for streaming, casting, and structured competition.
Why is it great competitively?
Readability & highlight moments
- Short phases → stakes understood instantly.
- Visible flow (ball curve) → instant clip material.
- Energy lines → dramatic front lines.
2v2: team synergy
- Complementary roles (QB/WR, TE/RB) → designed combos.
- Shot-caller + playmaker comms.
- Mirror logic: offense/defense per duo.
Broadcast-ready production
- Minimal overlay (possession, curve, timer, score).
- Auto replays on interceptions / clutch shots.
- Spectator mode: tactical cam + play focus.
Formats & leagues
- 1v1 Swiss, 2v2 best-of, piece draft.
- Hex variants for evolving meta.
- Ranked seasons, open brackets, pro circuit.
Focus on 2v2: showtime DNA
Natural roles: one “QB-caller” for tempo and macro vision; one “Receiver/Driver” focused on execution and scoring windows. On defense, a MLB + Safety duo reading curves and shutting lanes.
- Duo playbook: curved throws, screens, feint routes.
- Coordination: micro-timing (10s plan / continuous execution) → clutch moments.
- Showcast: clean narrative for caster + analyst desk.
